Quad band phones work on 4 frequencies so they can be used in North America as well as in Europe and the rest of the world.

The dual SIM allows two SIM cards in the same phone so you can have one number in e.g. Canada and another in e.g. Spain. This is overkill for sure.

Hi, does this mean that it will no longer be possible to buy a SIM card and pop it into a mobile on Tenerife? I was thinking of buying a dual SIM quad band mobile just so I could get a local number when I visit Tenerife at Christmas. I haven't done so yet and I'd appreciate any words of advice. Thanks.
